Obama's Katrina

What is with this guy?! For goodness sake, he's Kenyan, and half black, he should be doing all he can to save his brothas in N'awlins. Come on, Barry Obams. Get it together.

In all seriousness..seriously? There's been quite the uproar in implications over whether the MAN-MADE-MAN-CAUSED-NON-GOVERNMENTAL-ENTITY-INDUCED Oil Spill now the size of Puerto Rico (Jon does a song and dance about the Oil Spill's relationship with Puerto Rico. Yes, Jon and I are on a first name basis) is B-Rock's Hurricane Katrina. Because, you know, that's plausible. And, of course, Hurricane Katrina was completely preventable by the US government.

I can't completely blame the Right for these accusations..the lovely MainStream Media is buying into it and blowing it out of proportion like they are wont to do. I just don't understand the comparison. I won't go into my own personal feelings about the Bush Administration, or expand upon my not-so-subtle love of the Obama Administration. I just wish someone could explain how something that is caused by a non-governmental entity can be the government's fault if they don't react/respond to the problem. I should clarify - a non-governmental HUMAN entity. Not Mother Nature. She doesn't fit into that category. (And, for the record, Obama and his Administration are doing what they can to help.)

Here is my favorite gem about how 'ole Oil Spill is Obama's Katrina. Classic. I think my favorite line is "The media was crucifying Bush 2 weeks after Katrina, and today they ignore Obama's failure." Dude. It is just now two weeks since the spill. They're already on top of it! Don't you worry.
